Dr. Sarah Asiimwe

About the Fellow: Sarah holds a MPH and bachelors in medicine and surgery. She was attached to Ministry of Health Resource Center. She conducted an assessment of the existing information systems for HIV/AIDS data at Ministry of Health and two of its partners (AIM, UPHOLD). He also pilot tested integration of HIV/AIDS data into the HMIS and contributed to setting up of HMIS database with HIV/AIDS data at the Ministry of Health Resource Center.

Dr Enid Mbabazi Mugisha

About the Fellow:  She holds a MPH and a Bachelor of Medicine and surgery. She was attached to African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF) where she established and managed two functional PMTCT sites in Luwero district; conducted baseline survey on Butuntumula community’s knowledge, attitudes and practices regarding MTCT of HIV, which will be used to evaluate the AMREF-supported PMTCT project in Luwero.

Mr Bob Edrisa Mutebi

About the Fellow:  Bob Mutebi holds a Bachelors degree in Mass communication. He was attached to Central Broadcasting Service (CBS) a privately run radio station. He pioneered regular HIV/AIDS programming in CBS FM, managed and coordinated health desk activities, introduced feedback and archiving system for HIV/AIDS radio productions. He built team capacity in behaviour change communication, research and grants writing.

Dr. Hizaamu Rhamadhan

About the Fellow: Hizaamu holds a MPH and Bachelors of Veterinary Medicine. He was attached to Jinja district directorate of health services. While in Jinja he conducted a baseline survey to establish HIV/AIDS indicators for Jinja district monitoring and evaluation system, he designed the monitoring and evaluation database for HIV/AIDS activities, he also developed the Jinja district five year HIV/AIDS Strategic Plan (2005-2010) using the M&E data.

Mr. Ibrahim Musa Lutalo

About the Fellow: Ibrahim holds a M.Sc. Stat., PGD (Stat), B.SC. (Stat). He was attached to Traditional and Modern Health Practitioners Together against AIDS and other Diseases (THETA). At THETA he developed a heath management information system for electronic storage and retrieval of THETA data.

Ms Joan Mugenzi

About the Fellow:  Joan Mugenzi holds a post graduate diploma in Journalism and media management and a B.A (Arts). Joan was attached to World Vision to World Vision. Joan documented and disseminated the world vision HIV/AIDS response piloted under the Models of Learning programme using varied World vision national and international print media.

Ms Juliet Kanyesigye

About the Fellow: Juliet holds a MA (Women Studies) and a BA (Education). She was attached to Uganda Women’s Efforts to Save the Orphans’ (UWESO). At UWESO she conducted a UWESO Training Needs Assessment (TNA) for orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) in Tororo, Kumi and Pallisa districts. The results were used by UWESO to inform the Ministry of Gender, Labour and social development policy on orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) manual.

About the Fellow: Robert holds a post graduate diploma in computer science and a bachelor of business administration. He was attached to Makerere University Institute of Public Health. He developed the IPH/CDC HIV/AIDS Fellowship Program website.

Dr George Didi Bhoka

About the Fellow: George Didi holds a MPH and Bachelors of Medicine and surgery. He was attached to The AIDS Integrated Model District Program, Northern region Westnile cluster (AIM). He provided ongoing technical and training support to HIV/AIDS service providers as well as district HIV/AIDS task force and committees to plan, coordinate, manage and monitor their mutisectoral district HIV/AIDS control response initiative effectively.
